Automation Tester

This role requires the Automation Tester to be responsible for developing testing frameworks and, where appropriate, introducing new test tools with the goal of automating as much of the testing process as possible. The Automation Tester will be proactive in identifying improvements to help assure the quality of our products, while making testing methods efficient and reliable.

Essential experience

• Experience in test automation using C#.

• Experience in an agile environment.

• Experience using automation tools such as Playwright, SpecFlow, Selenium.

• Experience creating and maintaining test plans.

• Experience testing UI, APIs, web services, and performing testing based on data scenarios.

• The ability to hit the ground running and proactively explore new techniques and ways of working.

• A positive attitude with the ability to work well within our development teams.

• Great communication and organisational skills, with a natural problem-solving mindset.

Desirable experience

• Previous experience working within the telecommunications industry.

• Experience working with PBXs, voice and video products.

• An understanding of Azure DevOps CI/CD test integration would be advantageous.

• Experience with load testing tools such as JMeter.

• Experience testing cloud services such as Azure Functions, App Services, SQL Database, etc.

What would I be doing as an Automation Tester at 4Com?

• Implementing test strategies across multiple software products.

• Working with the development team and Product Owners to take user requirements and produce test scenarios – covering both expected and unexpected behaviour, functional and non-functional requirements.

• Establishing a consistent testing framework and tool chain across multiple software products.

• Writing and maintaining automated test scripts and a regression test suite.

• Integrating scripts with the development pipeline.

• Completing manual testing where required.

• Reporting test results and managing defects.

• Mentoring junior QA team members where appropriate.

• Participating in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning and retrospectives.
