We are 4Com; an award winning, market leading telecoms company that are currently going through an exciting period of growth and due to this, we are seeking an innovative and motivated Lead Business Intelligence Engineer to join our BI team.
As a Lead Business Intelligence Engineer your primarily responsibility will be leading the delivering data engineering solutions on a Microsoft Azure platform used by the BI team and data professionals within the wider business. You will need to ensure all solutions and designs are fit-for-purpose, align with BI and business strategy, are cost effective, secure, deliverable, and supportable.

In return for this, we are looking for someone who has:
- The ability to work as a team member and leader in a complex technical environment, taking responsibility to ensure the team delivers on committed objectives.
- Experience building scalable, performant, data pipelines working with Azure SQL Server, Databricks and Synapse, with knowledge of problem diagnosis and performance tuning techniques.
- Advanced knowledge and experience of SQL programming. Python expertise would be advantageous.
- Experience creating data visualisation content in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, or Tableau would be advantageous.
- Excellent communication and team work skills.
- Ideally Microsoft certified or working towards any of the following:
- Microsoft Azure and Data Fundamentals.
- Microsoft Azure Data Engineer.
- Administering Relational Databases on Microsoft Azure.
What would I be doing as a Lead Business Intelligence Engineer at 4Com?
- Design and deliver data engineering solutions on the Microsoft Azure platform used by the BI team and other data professionals in the business.
- Building data solutions for specific use cases, ensuring they align with BI and business strategy, are cost effective, secure, deliverable, and supportable.
- Develop low to high complexity, secure, governed, high quality, efficient data pipelines from a variety of on and off premise, internal and external data sources.
- Monitor the performance of SQL queries created by the team. Providing feedback and coaching to colleagues to optimise query performance where necessary.
- Take an active role in Agile / Scrum, quickly developing outputs for feedback and review.
